Samsung has unveiled a new lineup for its midrange Galaxy A series in Bangkok, Thailand. The new lineup involves Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80.

Impressive Camera Design

Samsung Galaxy A80 is a new midrange smartphone with an automatically rotating camera for both selfie and a rear-mounted camera. That camera makes this to be the first device to feature Samsung’s New Infinity Display which was announced last year. Check the video from Samsung Mobile twitter account below for the new A80 rotating camera.

It has a triple camera feature. This triple camera comes with a main 48MP sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 3D depth sensor. Because of its rotating mechanism, the camera can be used to shoot the exact same quality images whether operating it as a rear or selfie camera.

Comfortable Grip, Bigger Screen, Taller Body

Galaxy A80 is significantly thicker than its siblings. It is 9.3 mm thick but it would fit well in the hand due to the rounded back and the taller body. Smartphones nowadays are getting bigger and bigger. However, for making it comfortable to grip, Samsung is not increasing the width of the device. So it looks taller with 20:9 aspect ratio and 6.7-inch display size.

New One UI and Snapdragon 730

Snapdragon

It adopts the current version of Android 9.0 (Pie). Samsung also brings its new One UI 1.1 on top of it which’s a pretty good point. There is a little surprise under the hood of Galaxy A80. It is not Samsung’s Exynos chipsets that is applied here, but the Snapdragon 730 clocked at 2.2 GHz by Qualcomm. It is also supported by 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory.

Intelligent Battery Life System for Longer Usage

For supporting your all-day tasks, Galaxy A80 also features a 3,700 mAh battery that supports fast charging at 25W. Samsung also stated the device’s superior standby by times. Thanks to its Intelligent Battery Life system which adapts to your daily routine to save power.

Price and Availability

Galaxy A80 will launch on May 29th along with Galaxy A10, A20, A30, and A50, which have all been introduced in previous months. Unfortunately, the price for Galaxy A80 and A70 is not yet announced.
